Happy Thursday Houston, The Mad Houstonian, here.
Welcome to Day 23 of the Poetry A Day Challenge by Robert Lee Brewer, of the wonderful Poetic Asides Blog, at Writer's Digest.
For today’s prompt:
Take the phrase “Social (blank),” replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then, write your poem. Possible titles could include: “Social Distancing at the Grocery Store,” “Social Media Trolls,” “Social Club,” and/or “Social Distortion.” Heck, flipping the script to come up with a title like “Ice Cream Social” would totally work too.
Remember: These prompts are just springboards; you have the freedom to jump in any direction you want. In other words, it’s more important to write a new poem than to stick to the prompt."

So...what did I do?
Social Distancing by Kiril Kundurazieff
Face masks, hand washing, and social distancing for me.
Long lines, empty shelves, excessive hoarding,
If it weren't for a shopping trip last month, I'd have no TP at all.
Face masks, hand washing, and social distancing for me.
I saw the woman and her basket, loaded to the hilt,
To have a chance to buy just one roll, some people would have kilt.
'Cause they had believed reports that made them fear,
How were they to know the lies from which the stats were built?
Face masks, hand washing, and social distancing for me.
Long lines, empty shelves, excessive hoarding,
If it weren't for a shopping trip last month, I'd have no TP at all.
Face masks, hand washing, and social distancing for me.

I can't figure out the toilet paper shortage. Corona virus isn't a stomach issue.
