Welcome to Day 29 of the Poetry A Day Challenge by Robert Lee Brewer, of the wonderful Poetic Asides Blog, at Writer's Digest.
"Take the phrase “(blank) Again,” replace the blank with a word or phrase, make the new phrase the title of your poem, and then write your poem.
Remember: These prompts are just springboards; you have the freedom to jump in any direction you want.
I got to thinking about this and decided to do another remix...this time of a walking-themed poem I wrote last December.
Takin' a Bike Ride Again by Kiril Kundurazieff (With humble apologies to Willie Nelson)
Takin' a bike ride again
Just can't wait to take a ride again
Finding creative inspiration left and right
I can't wait to take a bike ride again
Takin' a bike ride again
Seein' things that I've never seen
Visitin' places that I may never visit again
I can't wait to hit the road again
Here I go, takin' a bike ride again
Just a wanderer headin' down the street
I'll even do so with some friends
Exploring the world around us our way
And our way is takin' a bike ride again
Takin' a bike ride again
It's never too early or too late to take a ride again
The health benefits will extend your life my friend
So get off your butt and take a bike ride again
Takin' a bike ride again
Explorin' America by bike where I've never been
Seein' new things is always a win
I can't wait to hit a Rail Trail again
On the road again
Headin' down the highway
Getting lost in my surroundings
Insisting that everything's okay
I say I can't wait to take a bike ride again
Life got you down, don't believe you'll ever ride again
The sights and sounds will lift your spirit
So get out the house and take a bike ride again, break free
And hit the road again
Takin' a bike ride again
I just can't wait to take a ride again
Notepad and camera in saddle bag, I love it so much it's a sin
I can't wait to hit the road again, to see what is to see
I can't wait to take a bike ride again
NEXT UP: THE END....
Now I have Willie Nelson's On The Road Again stuck in my head :)
