For years I used mini-tripods, a walking stick with camera attachments and my bicycle, depending on circumstances, to take the photos with my point and shoot cameras that I have become known for on my various blogs.
The past couple of years I have not had a walking stick and only my cell phone camera.
Until this month I didn't realize that monopod attachments, for cell phones, were available.
What made me interested in this was not just my finally getting a new Camera Monopod Walking Stick, to be debuted this month, but encouragement from friends to consider leaving the world of point and shoot cameras behind, see what my cell phone camera can do and eventually consider a major upgrade.
After exploring offerings on Amazon I bought a Vastar Universal Smartphone Tripod Adapter/Cell Phone Holder Adapter and I can already see the possibilities as I return one of my tripods to the handlebar of my bike.
Wrapping that sucker tight to the handlebar I was able to take pictures on my bike rides that would actually show ME and prove I made the trip, hee, hee!
Something that was particularly important on the longer, more adventuresome explorations.
The other tripod, which mostly just sat around in a drawer, as an extra, now can join the Vastar in my book bag to be handy when the need arises.
As you can see the Vastar can be attached to the tripods in 2 ways and can be adjusted as needed for best use with my cell phone and its camera.
I look forward to exploring the possibilities this little gadget opens up to me in using my cell phone camera on bike rides and walks.
That is a cool tripod to wrap around your bike. I can't wait to see the photos/videos you get.

You could add a remote shutter and it makes it easier to take pictures with the cell phone tripods, so you phone doesn't shake when tapping the screen to take the picture.
