As mentioned in part one of this series I ordered a custom made Bamboo Camera Monopod Walking Stick last month...
Begin here: A MAN AND HIS STICK: A Love Story
Part 2 shared how I had to send it back to fix a defect and rescue the poor dear from USPS hell upon its return.
When I got it home it was time to inspect the stick for any problems and introduce the cats to the stick.
The cats, of course, were very curious, and this made for a fun photo that will also be shared on The Opinionated Pussycat later in the week.
Just lift the still wrapped stick out of the box high enough for the gold knob to be visible and let nature take its course as the cats take note.
Sneakers and Elvira were napping on the bed, but when Friday leaped off the cat tower and came over for a look they, too, became interested.
I took it out, unwrapped it and inspected it top to bottom.
All was as it should be.
Let me give you a close up of the personalization of the artwork and inscription, designed to make this stick unique to me.
The inscription I requested included my name and all those things that make me the creative person I have been since I got my first computer in 1998 and rediscovered a long dormant creative side in a long dead online community and took up blogging in 2002.
The beautiful artwork begins with sunshine and a leafy branch...
and ends with a beautiful, powerful, rendition of a feline.
Not just any feline, mind you, but one who, for 15 years served as my best buddy and an important creative muse, especially for my cat blogging...
The artist responsible for this gorgeous image took her inspiration from several photos that I sent her.
The artwork you see here is just a taste of the thousands of designs drawn by Linda Barbadoro, of Serenity Bamboo, over their more than 40 years of making and selling their distinctive style of Bamboo Flutes and Walking Sticks.
I can't thank her enough.
Next up: Let me tell you about Serenity Bamboo, in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, and continue with the close-up look of what this thing called a Camera Monopod Walking Stick is all about.
