On February 27th, 2009, I attended one of the 3 performances of the Hollywood's Golden Age Program by the Orange County Pacific Symphony, at the Renee & Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall, in Costa Mesa.
One part of the program included the World Premiere of a piece, by James Newton Howard, called I Would Plant a Tree.
For a couple of years I attended Pacific Symphony Concerts of my choice, for free, helping to plug their work via my reviews, good, or bad.
I've rarely encountered others, whether on Blogs, or Message Boards, quoting, and recommending, my reviews.
This evening, while checking my stats, I discovered a recent plug on a Message Board of a German language Music Website.
Thanks to Google Translate I was able to learn how this came about. ;-D
Soundtrack Board is the website.
The place was a "Discussion of James Newton Howard Concert Forum".
A member named Silas mentioned, in Feb. 2009, that the above piece was about to be debuted.
A year, and a half after the 6th message had been left...Silas saw fit to quote a review, with Message #7, earlier this month. ;-D
Nearly three hours later a Thomas Nofz seemed rather desperate...
"Silas , could you please specify a source for this text ? Merci!"
An hour later, in the 9th, and most recent message, Silas put the poor man out of his misery, and linked to my full event review. ;-D
American Composers Festival: Hollywood's Golden Age
Thank you, Silas, the "Music Madman", whoever, and where ever, you are! ;-D
