Today's headlines barely scratch the surface of what people experienced here.
From downtown streets and freeways to outlying districts in all directions, clean-up and assessment began even as bodies are recovered and threats of more flooding, along various rivers, loom with the possible arrival of more rain Friday through Sunday, though in lesser amounts than Mon/Tues. night.
I was able to take the bus to and from work and chose to ride the bus that travels on Braeswood, from Gessner to near The Medical Center Transit Center, dropping me off at West Loop TC, near my work.
From Fondren (Maybe even Gessner before it) to TMC Brays Bayou overflowed its banks onto North and South Braeswood, on each side of its normal path of confinement.
On Wednesday morning the evidence of damage could be seen in pile, after pile, of carpeting and other trash in front of businesses and residences...and that was just on Braeswood. Streets, a few blocks in from the bayou, that had been flooded, had similar piles awaiting removal.
