So, I get a phone call the other day. The boss of my liaison with MD Anderson hospital.
It seems they want to set me up with an appointment with MD Anderson soon.
(Last update on my eye issues was January 17th: Medical Update and More: Necessity, Comfort, and a New Sense of Permanence )
The idea is that this "Radiation Therapy Consult" would be covered by a different funding than what I'd filed an application for, allowing me to be seen before my 6 months residency in Texas is reached.
The consult will allow MD Anderson to determine if the malignant melanoma in my right eye can be successfully treated by them via an outpatient procedure, or not. If it can then the procedure will be covered by my county gold card, or maybe this funding they talked about...if not, and I have to be admitted for treatment, then I will have to wait until my 6 mo. are up, under my original application.
Meanwhile my cat, Nikita, had his first serious medical exams since before my initial eye issues in Novemeber, and the news is mostly positves there.
