In typical Kiril fashion, this post was beautifully written and expressed with the wondrous historical details I've come to appreciate. I am disappointed, however, in the quality of the photographs.

I don't know if that's a product of the scanning process or if the originals are so grainy. Suggest you seek to retore them, if possible, for inclusion in your book. Don't you love how I'm always pushing you to write that book ;P

The originals are old and a little grainy, being 1943 and 1952, and 1978.

Don't think I can improve on them, even using Photoshop Elements.
