Very frustrating, yes, indeed! =(

I went through these kinds of things with a Compaq laptop I had once, when Windows ME was the "in" thing. What a bunch of junk!

The laptop was fine, but WinME wasn't. I must have backed up, restored, and reloaded that computer 4 or 5 times ... all manually.

There was no Carbonite then! I couldn't wait to upgrade to Win98. Only once with Win98 did I run into this problem ... on a newer laptop. Thankfully, my son-in-law could figure that mess out, and the computer lasted another couple of years.

AND I managed to skip WinVista altogether!! I love Win7 that's on this Dell now ... and I really hope it lasts long enough to skip Win8.

In my experience, every other Win release is hideous and filled with problems!

I can't stop singing praises for how amazing of a person you are. Computer issues infuriate me in ways that other things do not. Please make sure you call carbonite. I will keep my fingers crossed that this mess gets better.
