Friends, fellow writers, countrymen, women and critters...
I would like to begin by posing a question and providing an answer...
What do you get when you cross 1 part ham...
With 2 parts feline?
Um, it's complicated... :-D
In the aftermath of participating in the month long Platform Building Challenge led by Robert Lee Brewer, I made many new friends in writing.
One of those, Amanda Socci, a freelance writer, has become such a huge fan of my writing, especially that found on Meowsings of an Opinionated Pussycat, that she has been encouraging me, Mr. Nikita and Elvira Mistress of Felinity, to take our writing in new directions, as part of our effort to build an audience and a platform.
As part of our discussions, a couple of months ago, she asked me to answer a series of questions, even as she began to read more and more of the posts on my various blogs: This one, Meowsings and even the retired Cycling Dude.
I thus found myself the 2nd subject of her Writer's Voice Circle of posts on her blog.
While parts 1 and 2 of her series on me were in the form of an interview of me, the 3rd and 4th parts comprised her personal opinions on my writing voices and suggestions for the future.
The finished work is something I've never seen done by other online writers, in relation to my decade as a blogger, and is a humbling, thought provoking experience for me to digest (I've had a few friends share their thoughts, and encouragements, in comments and e-mails over the years and those people have played important roles in my growth as a blogger).
She came to Meowsings totally unfamiliar with the worldwide community of critter bloggers, so her knowledge of the community and the various ways it works, is still growing.
There are actually several people who have turned their blogging into ideas for books, and at least 1 or 2, I believe, who have translated their blog posts into books and even eBooks.
There is also the Cat Writer's Association - "an organization of professionals writing, publishing and broadcasting about cats. Our members include writers, editors, publishers, artists, public relations specialists, broadcasters and others."
I invite you to read Amanda's series, share with your own readers and leave your thoughts in her comments and here, as well.
I will have more to say in the coming days. (Links updated to new blog - October 2012)

On the left = "My cat is an angel from heaven above, with sandpaper kisses and a heart full of love."
On the right = "Cats leave paw prints on your heart."

Awesome post and very nice recap, Kiril!
It has been a great pleasure getting to know you and your writing.
I'm always learning something new from you.
A cat writer's association? Wow! Tremendous!
