After the excitement and success, of Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day, on Wednessday, I decided to return to the scene this morning.
Word was that every homosexual between the Castro District in San Francisco and Barney Frank's basement were being encouraged to head to their nearest Chick-Fil-A for a smoochfest (aka National Same Sex Kiss Day)...and some tasty chicken on the side. :-D
I wanted to see this spectacle for myself so got there around 1015am expecting to see street theatre, a clogged drive-thru with cars on the street for a block on either side of the building, and LGBT's of every shape, size and color of the rainbow, clogging the inside, with more in line out the door.
Alas I got no tingle up my leg, witnessed no disgusting acts of tongue wrassling, or encountered any of the usual antics seen at some of the more offensive Pride Parades.
Instead of even well behaved homosexual couples there with their families to make a statement, all I saw were what I saw wednesday: supportive individuals, couples and families.
There WAS one lone man, who, if you just judged by stereotypes, "sounded gay", when chatting with a waitress when she brought him his order, but that don't mean squat. :-D
Plus a group of young women in team uniforms who were intent on surrounding me in my corner, it seemed, but failed because I picked up my plate and newspapers, and beat a hasty retreat to another seat until they left 45 min. later. :-D
No indication to me that this group of teens and young adults was a passel of Lesbians. :-D
Business picked up a little around 1145 to noon, but nothing even remotely like the other day. It appeared to be just a normal lunch hour.
I had asked the counter people if they were prepared to call in locksmiths but had to explain why due to their puzzled looks: My theory was that the locksmiths might be needed if any of the no-show smoochers were unable, or unwilling, to unlock their lips. :-D
Things were more interesting elsewhere.
While there was the good, clean, fun of a supportive Flash Mob on Wednesday...some of the more cranky decided smooching was not a clear enough message about what they think, and so they went in for a little vandalism in Torrance, and more drive thru harrassment in Hollywood.
The mainstream media, of course, covered both days in different ways, misrepresenting the first, and swooning over the 2nd ( See coverage by Yahoo, with pictures of serious smooching! ).
So Here Are the 7 Pictures From the Chick-fil-A ‘Kiss-In’ Protest That You May or May Not Want to See. Via the Blaze.
Meanwhile, The Blaze got a scoop by interviewing that idiot, from wednesday, Adam Smith.
He's gone into hiding because, according to him, idiots on the far right have been hatefully responding to what he did, via e-mail.
He also claims to have tried to reach out to the woman he harrased, to try to explain himself, apologize, or something, but she wants nothing to do with him, and rightfully so.
Two wrongs don't make a right and those who are harrassing him and his family, if such is true, don't represent the majority of good christian people in this nation.
The support for Rachel has been amazing.
Someone brought her flowers, her boyfriend set up a web page so people could show her support, and she may appear on FOX News. :-D
In an evening update on The Blaze there is an 8 min. video, by Smith, in which he apologizes to Rachel and attempts to explain himself.
If he hadn't lost his job would he still be sorry? Who knows?
