The other day President Obama attacked the ingenuity, creativity and drive, of the Americn Buisinessman and woman.
“If you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own.”
By extention he attacked all of us who want to do great things with the talents given us by The Great Creator, whether it's start a business, or turn our writing into books, or put it to other creative media uses.
Presidential candidate Mitt Romney responded: "Obama attacks success" and These Hands Ad.
Glenn Beck gives a powerful response.
Rush Limbaugh gives a powerful response.
Zombie, of PJ Media:
"President Obama’s instantly infamous “You didn’t build that” speech is a major turning point of the 2012 election not because it was a gaffe but because it was an accurate and concise summary of core progressive fiscal dogma. It was also a political blunder of epic proportions because in his speech Obama unintentionally proved the conservatives’ case for limited government."
The Ultimate Takedown of Obama’s ‘You Didn’t Build That’ Speech
I have been online since 1998 and became a blogger in 2002 (Musings succeded my original blog in 2007), with my cat Nikita, as a creative muse, in the mix, with my other interests such as bicycling (The Cycling Dude -2003 to 2010).
Rediscovering a variety of long dormant writing talents and finding I had new talents I'd not yet tapped, I've done a lot that I'm proud of.
When I finally gave Nikita his own blog, Meowsings of an Opinionated Pussycat, in Jan. 2010, with Elvira Mistress of Felinity added to the mix later in the year, I began to think about taking my creativity in directions I'd never seriously considered before.
Earning an income via my writing and blogging, or publishing (7/26 update - or, even as a friend has been suggesting, editing) and, more recently, even the notion of a real business related to my interest in cats (And my only business experience was in Bookstore retail (1984- 2001, the last 11 of those years as a Store Manager).....
What am I doing thinking such thoughts when I am unemployed (Since Sept. 2010), recently recovered from a broken ankle (5/2011 - 5/2012) and trying to somehow relocate to Texas, from the hell hole that is now California, as soon as I possibly can, with what little resources I have in my posession?
Maybe these blog posts will help explain my hopes and dreams...
PYTW 34 - Dear Mad Macedonian: A Love Letter
PYTW 39: Write About Your Fears and Overcoming Them
Dear Great Creator: On Texas, Life, Career, Creativity
My imagination is proud, bold, unchained, and unafraid!
President Obama and his administration want to take away my pride in personal achievement, chain up my creativity and cause me to live in fear of expressing myself and my ideas.
With all due respect for the Office of the President, but absolutely none for the man who currently holds that office....
Sorry, but that ain't gonna happen.

Awesome.

Lots to read still.
I do agree with what I have read, that Obama showed his hand and energized business people everywhere now if they would only vote him out.
Love Elvira's tongue, perfect expression for the Prez.
