On Saturday afternoon I spend 4 hours loitering about the campus of USC with several thousand complete strangers. :-D
I took the Metrolink Train from the station in Orange, to Union Station, in LA.
In Orange I spent a pleasant 1/2 hour chatting with a young lady from the Czech Republic, a teacher attending a conference at Chapman College, who was going to spend the day exploring downtown LA.
Once at Union Station things soon took a turn for the, um, Fishy. :-D
Apparently my Sassy Lady, Elvira Mistress of Felinity, has her fans in the strangest of places. :-D
On the train, and all afternoon, at the Festival, my shirt kept attracting attention, allowing me to tell about our Cat Blog, and pass out a card about it, Nikita, & Elvira.
How many people will come by for a look, I do not know. :-D
The highlight of the day was coming across author, and humorist, David Jerome.
Before writing his first novel, Roastbeef's Promise, in 2009, he was probably best known for the 13 volume comedy newspaper called "The Irreverent Times", from 1994 to 1996 and, uner the name of James E. Spamm Jr. writing a collection of funny fan letters to famous folk, called "I'm a Big Fan."
He was giving his book, free, to anyone who said they were a blogger, and who promised to post a review of the book after reading it. :-D
The Irreverent Times came out at the same time The Onion was getting it's start, and Mr. Jerome said that if he'd had more internet savvy who knows what could have been. :-D
I gave him my cards for both my blogs, and I also spent $10 for the complete set of The Irreverent Times. :-D
I also picked up a copy of The Magical Poetry Blimp Pilot's Guide: A Handbook to Reading, Writing, & Learning Poetry By Heart, from the Ca. Poet Laureate & Friends, also for $10 (In 125 pg. printed, non-book, form, so one can put it in a folder.)
As described on its website:
"The Magical Poetry Blimp is a source of “pro-active poetry,” a dramatic approach to the teaching of poetry in the classroom and in the community.
The Blimp is a vehicle for the imagination — techniques for learning and loving poems (on-line and in The Magical Poetry Blimp Pilot’s Guide, a handbook for poetry bus riders and drivers). The Magical Poetry Blimp is the official project of Carol Muske-Dukes, as Poet Laureate of the state of California — though the Blimp, in partnership with Get Lit and the Get Lit Players, reaches audiences throughout the state of California — and beyond!"
The website & online version of the guide, are here.
It was an interesting afternoon, to say the least. :-D

It sounds like you had a good day of networking and walked away with some interesting finds!
I'm glad I got to visit through your eyes.
Thanks for sharing.
Love the photos, by the way! :-)
