Welcome friends, fans, and strangers, alike!
This is the 666th post on Musings Of a Mad Macedonian, since I begn this blog on October 8th, 2007, after retiring my first blog after 5 1/2 years. :-D
Nikita was there, alongside me, from the beginning, as he had been with the first one.
Nikita joins me, today, submitting one of the 2 Writing Prompts to be shared in this entry.
As regulars know, he can now be found, alongside his protege, Elvira Mistress of Felinity, over at Meowsings of an Opinionated Pussycat.
My offering...
Once, when no-one was looking...
(Set a Timer for 15 minutes, and write non-stop.)
I remember it like it was yesterday...
We had recently moved into our new home on Merrywood St., in 1969, and I was 9 years old.
Around the corner was a Shopping Bag Market, and we used to walk around the corner, my Mom, and I, so she could do grocery shopping, while Dad watched my muh younger sisters.
This was a year before he became ill, and all was hunky dory in our lives.
One day we went to the market &, as we ventured up, and down, the aisles I happened to spot an open bag of M & M's.
Woo Hoo! Jackpot! :-D
I picked it up, and as Mom continued shopping, oblivious, I munched away quite happily. ;-D
After paying, and loading up the bags, we headed out into the parking lot.
As we approached our street corner Mom suddenly noticed me, and my prize. :-D
She asked me where I got it.
I can not tell a lie!
I told her I saw the open bag on a shelf, and thought, finders keepers, losers weepers, or something along those line, typical of the thinking of a 9 year old.
She promptly marched me, and the bag, with only 2 M & M's left in it, back to the store, made me turn it in, and apologize for stealing it.
I was humuliated!
Needless to say I never, ever, stole anything again. :-D

Nikita's offering (Age 9 in the photo)...
It's what I do in the middle of the night...
(Set a Timer for 15 minutes, and write non-stop.)
The darkness surrounds us as I lay stretched out on the bed next to him, listening to the gentle sound of his breathing as he sleeps, a contented smile on the face that looked out from beneath the covers.
For the past 3 hours I had slept next to him, dreaming of the many times he has played with me, tickled me, rubbed my head, and fed me treats.
In the middle of the night, though, I awaken, & spend an hour, & a 1/2 just watching him, before going to the water bowl for a drink, then the litter box, before returning to the bed, curling up in a ball between his legs, under cover, to resume my sleep, perchance to dream...
It's what I do...I'm a Cat afterall. :-D
NOTE: Prompt taken from A Writer's Book of Days (Original Ed.) by Judy Reeves.
If you attempt the prompt on your own blog leave a link in the comments. :-D

That's a lot of posting! Phew, congrats!
I am not sure if I will ever get that many posts.
You must do a workshop on how to get the humans to work for Felines like that.
I will be first to sign up. Keep up the postings!!

Gracie, at the simplest level, all it takes is havng something interesting to share, and finding the time to share it, and hope enough people find it all worth their time to regularly check it out. :-D
What Daddy & I have done on THIS blog, took 4 1/2 hrs. to reach 666....
The first blog we did together had 1801 posts from 2002 to 2007.

Congratulations on reaching 666 posts on this blog.
I love your writing prompts.
Nine-year-olds do have an interesting way of looking at things.
I think Herman gets up and plays or does other stuff in the middle of the night, too, Nikita.
