God that was brilliant, both the speech, and the video tribute!
How can America fight for freedom when so many enemies of freedom are in DC?
As one person commented..."Can you imagine the speech Obama would have given in the same circumstances ? I am so proud of George Bush, and so embarrassed by Barack Obama."
A, Damn, men!
2. What I Saw: Notes Made on September 11, 2001 from Brooklyn Heights by Vanderluen...
Brilliant, absolutely stunning to read, and view, but more important than ever before today.
QUOTE:
"All that we have must be brought forward and used without restraint. This is an act of war beyond Pearl Harbor.
What do I feel? I don' t know what I feel --- except that I want vengeance. I want everything this country possesses put onto the people who did this, and the people who supported this act, and the people who believe this is the way in which political ends are achieved.
I want there to be war until these people are eradicated whoever they are, and where ever they are. I want it made clear that anything even approaching this evil act will be met with utter destruction -- people, families, villages, cities, nations. This is an act of war and war must be the response.
We need to be in a state of War and to pursue the real aims of war. Against what country? Against a list of countries that support, harbor, or approve of terrorism.
A list of countries. All of them. And we need to take action that is terrible and unilateral. Individuals, families, villages, cities, nations... all must be pursued and eliminated.
There needs to be revenge. There needs to be a balancing of the scales.
This is the greatest single evil act against Americans in history. It cannot be allowed to stand.
Because it is through television that those responsible for this monstrous act receive their impression of this country, I believe they have made a fundamental miscalculation about the deeper nature of the United States. A miscalculation that will cause to be visited upon them what I pray will be a terrible lesson; a lesson that will make the survivors envy the dead.
But there is - and always has been - another America, and it is this America that I hope will emerge from this day, and remind all those who seek to harm us that we can be a nation that is as terrible as it seems foolish; that we are a country of deep resolve, capable of striking back in cold anger. Striking without compassion or regret;
This mission should be to remind the world that while we are a nation committed to peace, we are a nation to be feared at war. We have the power to do this. We must use it without hindrance. If peace needs to be purchased with the sword, we should be ready to do this. We must become what we were during the Second World War-ruthless and unrelenting.
Those who think we are only what they see on our foolish television, need to have a hard and burning lesson on who we are when we decide to turn off the sit-coms and get real.
If we cannot do this, we will suffer this again and we will deserve it. The time to fill ourselves with the resolve to crush this monster is now and I pray we are up to the task."

This fight should have been over years ago, but is far from over now.
Why?
The baby in Lileks video will soon be old enough to join the military in a few years.
Will the babies of 2001 STILL be fighting this battle in the years to come?
I will never forget.
I will never forgive.
I've done too damn much book reading, article and website, reading, and watching of videos, by reputable authors, and researchers, who have more than done their homework, on the threat from "The Religion of Peace", the last 9 years.
To all those who defend it, yet prefer not to speak out against the terrorists, and the hate, and violence, against women, those who wish to leave the faith, non-muslims, America, and Western Civilization, I ask, if the faith is so wonderful, and living under all that it preaches, and it's laws, is so great..why do you prefer to live elsewhere?
Now I read of a Saudi Diplomat asking for US Asylum, because the fact he is Gay, and befriended a Jewish woman, on top of that, has cost him his job, and will cost him his life, if he returns to Saudi Arabia, as the Saudis insist he do.
Open your eyes, people, read, watch, and learn.
I'm just a non-church going Conservative, and a Tea (Caffeine Free, please! Sorry, but I haven't even touched Coffee in, I think, 20 years, um, hee, hee!) Partier, and I'm pissed.
3. An Open Letter to Democrats Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Was Not Enuf by Vanderleun....
Yes, yes, I was once a Clintonista in the early 90's...but I got better eventually. ;-D
QUOTE:
"This looming election must be one in which the nation, without ambiguity, rejects the ruinous path on which it has been set by an administration and congress that is nothing short of monarchical in its structure and tyrannical in its aims. Power is too much in the hands of a criminal establishment with only the ruin of the nation as its goal. We see it in every action. We hear it in every speech. We feel it daily as we walk about our streets.
For the system of a democratic republic to sustain itself, it must check and balance power"

A brilliant essay!

5. James Lileks Column today....
QUOTE:
"The wars grind on, but as far as the front pages are concerned, they’re like TV shows that lost their popularity but pull enough viewers to avoid cancellation. (The video store doesn’t even carry the DVD of the first two seasons anymore.) We’re used to the hole in the ground where the towers used to be, and if they announced they won’t rebuild, but will pave it over and use it for parking, people would shrug. We haven’t forgotten that the towers fell, but no one remembers what they planned to replace them with. The towers they planned looked empty in in the pictures – shiny, contorted, as if twisting away to avoid a blow.
Right after the towers fell, people who’d never liked them as architecture wanted them back just as they were. Get back up in the sky! But it hasn’t happened. Even if they build the replacement towers, there’s still a space in the sky where no one will ever stand again.
We could stand there once.
That we couldn’t stand there eight years ago was their fault.
That we cannot stand there today is ours."
Why in the HELL has nothing been built by now? God Damn it!
****UPDATE - 9/12****
America can build sports palaces and skyscrapers in record time. We have the brightest engineers and architects, the best-equipped builders and manufacturers, the most generous private entrepreneurs and philanthropists. And yet America has failed to build a single, soaring monument that matches the heroism, greatness, sacrifice, and spirit of freedom that a 9/11 memorial should represent.....
Where is the urgency, dedication, speed, strength, and clarity to show them how we roll?
If “never forget” is our post-9/11 mantra, why the hell is it taking so long to build fields and halls and museums of remembrance unsullied by political correctness and anti-American pandering?
I agree with Michelle Malkin 100% - This IS a National Disgrace!
If a Single Picture Can Speak a Thousand Words...Then those in her essay speak many, many volumes.
About that proposed Mosque at Ground Zero...
From World Net Daily:
Muslim groups are proposing a 13-story $100 million mosque in the most prominent spot in America – the heart of downtown New York City near the World Trade Center site.
Is this mosque a sign of America's tolerance, or is it a sign of Muslim conquest?
The past (630AD to the Present Day) may hold answers....
On Sept. 11, 2001, Muslim terrorists attacked the most prominent spot in America, the World Trade Center. In less than 10 years, the number of mosques in New York City has skyrocketed to over 140.
In light of history, reasonable citizens have a right to question if the mosque proposed at Ground Zero is a sign of America's tolerance, or a sign of Muslim conquest?
