When last I reported in, June 13th, it was about a visit to the Cardiologist, and some upcoming tests.
I Saw the Cardiologist, and 2 More Tests are Scheduled for This Week
Nikita has been doing a great job as my Nurse. ;-D
Next up was a Treadmill test.
At the Cardio my pulse began at 69 Heartbeats per Minute.
The nice lady stuck 10 patches on my stomach, and chest, and they had cords that went to a white computer-like machine.
Having never been on a treadmill, in any serious way, before, it took a couple of minutes for me to get the hang of it.
I stuck my hands on the front bar, and the track began moving slowly at a 10% incline as I began to walk.
The goal was to get my pulse going at 153.
So the faster the track went the faster I began to run, and my heart to beat....
The incline rose to 18%, and the speed was 5mph, during the last minute of the test, and I huffed, and puffed, my way to the finish to a 162.
Preliminary results showed me under normal stress, with no blocked artery.
This means that there is no indication, so far, that my seizure was caused by a blockage.
There WERE a couple of skipped beats, and this will be something the Holter will help evaluate.
Next up was wearing the Holter Monitor for 24 hours.
I had to wear this contraption for 24 hours, and take notes of what I did, when, and how long.
Walking, bus rides, puttering around the house, sleeping, eating, going up, and down the 1 flight of srtairs to, & from, the apartment, even riding my bike 5 miles (including one small hill).
The results of the Monitor will be sent to my Docs, and follow-up appointments will be made so I can learn what everything means.
I will learn more the next time I meet with both the Cardiologist (Monday the 28th), and the Neurologist.
My Mid-year Physical was also last week.
My Doc said my Total Cholesterol was high, the Bad Cholesterol was high, the Triglicerides were a little high, and the Good Cholesterol was OK.
I need to eat a stricter diet, and exercise more (Walking/Cycling), and cut down on Fats, to work on improving the above, and lose weight, too.
I persuaded the Doc to authorize X-Rays of both my knees, because I've been having off, and on issues with them, and my lower legs, fo a few years, that I alwasy attributed to my weight, or exercising too much, or too little, and they were acting up again.
We shall see what the results have to say.
In the meantime, I am now on vacation thru the 7th, and plan on doing some TV watching, and some walks with Nikita in his Stroller.
