First, however, I had to spend all day, the day before the Cardio appointment, running around to a hospital, and my Primary Physicians office to collect a bunch of documents the office people at the cardio place said I needed.
I got a copy of the full evaluation the Neuro sent to my Primary, and it's a more detailed discussion than the basic recommendation the guy told me at the time.
In addition to the MRI he recommended I have "a Holter Monitor, or a Formal Cardiac Work-Up for the observed heart block seen on the EEG as this may be a case of Cardiogenic Syncope that turned into a convulsion".
I also got my first look at the full MRI Report:
Well, hell, combine all this smallness, with the fact my Sella is partially empty, I don't know whether this news is an afront to my Manliness, or not!
Imagine all the snickers among the women folk..."Oh, him? I hear he's got a puny Patent Cavum Septum Pellucidum et Vergae, so I'd think hard about it if he asks you out...just sayin' is all, girl friend!"
At least my brain isn't considered abnormal! ;-D
I have done some reading online, and found this all interesting, but my brain is "not considered abnormal" so if the Docs aren't concerned... ;-D
I AM, however, going to ask the Neuro, and my Primary, some questions, though, because I DID see some things tied to my history of bad eyesight, and medical issues of both parents, that have me curious.
Anyway, Nikita spent the early morning putting all those papers I got in order before I headed off to the Cardio.
All his hard work was for nothing, though!
The Doc, while finding all the info useful to the discussion, and his diagnosis, did not feel it neccessary to keep the records in my file since the Neuro, and my Primary had them, and were more knowledgeable about what they mean (Apparently he was having a Star Trek flashback...something along the lines of "I'm a Cardiologist, not a Neurologist, Jim!").
Since the last time I had an EKG was a year ago they gave me one, and the Doc asked me questions, and listened to my heart, and lungs.
He found "no strong indication" that heart problems were the cause of the Seizure, but noted that I had a low Good Cholesterol level, and that this could be worked on by dietary adjustments, aerobic exercise (More of what I have done all my life! Walking, and Cycling. I have never been a Car Person.), and losing weight (I weighed 192, that morning, and need to be closer to 160. It's been years since I last weighed in even the 170's!).
The Doc is going to have me do 2 tests.
1. I will wear the Holter Monitor for 24 hours. (Between next Wednesday and Thursday, mornings!)
2. I will get on a Treadmill.
(Tuesday afternoon!)
