Thanks to checking my stats, this morning, I have re-discovered one of the first bloggers to ever encourage my efforts, with comments, and links in blog posts of their own.
We first connected about 2 months after I began blogging, in the Summer of 2002, and I think I last was able to visit her blog sometime in 2008, I don't remember now.
I thought she had stopped blogging, even on a new place, and so mourned the loss of a wonderful voice in the Blogosphere.
Sue, of A Kitchen in Brabant, a wonderful blog about life in The Netherlands, and so much more...
I wrote the following blog post in the Summer of 2002:
Wandering around the BLOGGERVERSE, half asleep, my impending snoozefest was momentarily postponed by the discovery of A Kitchen in Brabant.
I've read a weeks worth of posts tonite, and am eager to read more by wandering through the archives. :-)
One of the things that I have grown to appreciate in the 2 months of my Blog's existence is the fact that folks all over the world are getting into the act, and one can see how the rest of the world lives and thinks.
Now, it's off to bed! :-D
Not long after I wrote that, among other words of praise, she linked to me, for the first time, I think, saying simply..."Kiril makes me feel like a bit of a fraud ( but thanks anyways !)".
By the end of 2003 her old blog was, according to one post of mine, the 8th top refferer of readers to my rarely read original blog, the same at the end of 2004. ;-D
Toward the end of 2003, in blogging about a post of hers, I wrote:
Early in my exploration of the BLOGGERVERSE I discovered a wonderful writer in the Netherlands who shared with her readers her thoughts on everything from bicycling to politics, family to world events.
She thought my name the most unusual she encountered last year, and she has been an occasional commenter here, as I have to the Kitchen.
I count her a friend.
Her blog, in its new home, with all of its posts nicely archived all the way back to the beginning, has been returned to my Blogrolls, in List #2, of the Food For Thought section, an appropriate place, I think, for a blog with the word "Kitchen" in its title, and alot on its plate worth ea, I mean, reading.
I have some serious catching up to do, I think. ;-D
