MADNESS MONDAY: A Madness Monday post usually deals with the topic of the Nut Cases in the Family Tree (Madness comes in many varieties, some not even the fault of the person who suffers from it.), that few talk about, or those elusive ancestors who drive us mad as we try to track info on them down.
Original Post: Amy Crooks, of Untangled Family Roots, came up with the idea, here.
TOMBSTONE TUESDAY: A Tombstone Tuesday post usually includes an image of a gravestone of one or more ancestors and may also include a brief description of the image or the ancestor.
ORIGINS: Amy Crow of Amy's Genealogy, etc. Blog originated the concept in June, 2008, and it was then popularized by Becky Wiseman of Kinnexions, in September, 2008.
Amy debuted her Meme with this description: My goal with this is to share some of my favorite tombstones or those that highlight a particular aspect of tombstone and cemetery research.
Becky really got the ball rolling, inspiring others with this post.
This reminds me! I'm on Find A Grave, with 1 Memorial and 6 Photos, in 9 months of membership. ;-D
WORDLESS WEDNESDAY: To participate in Wordless Wednesday one creates a post with the main focus being a photograph or image. You can include attribute information as to the source of the image (date, location, owner, etc.).
It is interesting to note that there is a version called "Not So Wordless Wednesday" with the main focus still being an image but there is a backstory to the image.
No-one knows when this Meme was born in the Blogosphere, and whose fault it was, hee, hee! ;-D
Legend has it that, way back in the mists of Blogging Time, someone simply got lazy, or drew a blank while trying to decide what to blog about one day, and decided to try and get away with a post of just a photograph.
It work...obviously. ;-D
Wordless Wednesday is a Blog devoted to this Meme since October 2006, one so popular that, now, EVERY DAY is Wordless Wednesday for some folks. ;-D
SURNAME SATURDAY ( A Genealogy Meme for Twits!):
ORIGINS: Building upon Craig Manson’s Names, Places & Most Wanted Faces meme over at Geneablogie, and in an effort to get more Geneabloggers to use Twitter, Thomas MacEntee, of GeneaBloggers, started a new meme, in February 2009, called Surname Saturday.
When I come across Memes for Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, I will add them to the list!
