I am a life long cyclist, and one of the earliest BikeBloggers In the world, having begun my Blog, The Cycling Dude, in January, 2003.
This will give you an idea of what it's about and, if you are a cyclist, let me say that I am proud of the fact that there is no other BikeBlogger in the world with the comprehensive resources in their sidebar to match what I offer anyone interested in what can be found online related to cycling.
From the start I shared my talent for creative writing, with my readers.
1. There is one short piece of fiction: THE ZORRO OF LOVE: A Peddler (pardon the pun!) of Romance.
2. An Essay I call... Church of the Almighty Bicycle.
3. An April Fools Prank I called... Bike Lanes to Replace Hwy. 101!
4. A "Press Conference", by Lance Armstrong, at the Tour De France, that I would like to see. ;-D
5. A recent Supreme Court decision caught my attention, this year: Supremes Affirm Cyclists Right to Bear Arms. ;-D
6. I introduced my readers to Haiku's, and Tanka's about bicycling.
7. One of a bicyclists worst nightmares is not too, unlike that of the Motorist, you know...
I wrote a poem about losing The Key! ;-D
8. The Owl and the Pussycat was inspiration for a poem I call... The Man and the Bicycle. ;-D
9. I used The Lumberjack Song, by the Immortal Monty Python Troupe, as insiration for my own piece called...The Bicyclist's Song. ;-D
10. A bicyclists encounter with a police officer, and the lryics to the theme song of one of my favorite reality TV shows, inspired a song I call... BIKE POLICE -- or, Bad Cyclist: A Song Parody. ;-D
11. Jake Hooker and Alan Merrill, of I Love Rock and Roll fame, inspired a song I call... I Love to Get on A Bike and Go, Go, Go! ;-D
12. The Theme Song to the TV Show Green Acres inspired a song a call... Bike Trails. ;-D
13. With apologies to Scotland, and inspired by Tony Sheridan, and Ray Charles, in June I wrote a song based on My Bonnie... My Bicycle. ;-D
Let your interests, and hobbies, a song, an article, or just something in the news, inspire you to write essays, humor, fiction, poetry, and song. ;-D
