As I wrote in an earlier piece, Bloggers in the OC have been invited to spread a little Culture. ;-D
Well, it appears that at least 2 other bloggers attended the An American Tale Performace besides myself, and I've discovered 2 new blogs to add to my OC Blogroll. ;-D
1. If you have not discovered the Blogging Community known as MetroBlogging: Orange County, then you are missing a vibrant, diverse, and opinionated side to life in the OC:
One of the bloggers is named Gina, and she wrote her own interesting thoughts on the performance.
She also has a blog called Just Another Day, and has been a blogger since 2004, with an archive list, called Because the Past is Rockin', that you can explore.
2. Since May of 2007 the OC has apparently had an Art Blogger wandering about the landscape. ;-D
Chris most recently ran the contemporary art space The Office located in Huntington Beach.
This is how he describes the purpose of his blog:
This blog will consist of contemporary art happenings in Orange County, CA. and beyond and will include, openings, art reviews, musings, and gossip from The OC.
His blog is called, appropriately, The OC Art Blog!
I like the opening of his review of An American Tale:
I've always found that when things seem to be getting a little closed in and my muse is nowhere to be found the best cure is to step outside of my comfort zone a bit and seek inspiration from other creative endeavors. To take some action that gives me a break from whatever I'm working on and also allows me to see other creative people operating at their best.
Something to think about in those words.
The OC Art Blog is chock full of pictures, and its sidebar is full of OC Art Links, and a list of Art related blogs.
The page for the Pacific Symphony "Citizen Press Corp" coverage of the 2008 American Composers Festival is here.
