I do not own a car, never have, never will.
The bus is my friend.
We have been bosum buddies since before I was old enough to ride one alone.
One thing I've learned in the OC, even with an assertive automated female voice yelling loudly in my ear, "NOW APPROACHING (name your intersection)", "STOP REQUESTED" and other tidbits of information (I half expect the bus of the future to announce "THE PASSENGER IN SEAT 25 HAS JUST FARTED! IT IS OK TO OPEN A WINDOW FOR THE NEXT 10 MINUTES") we passengers can all notice if we just look around us, I CAN sleep reasonably well for long stretches of time while riding an OCTA (Orange County Transit Authority) bus here, just like in the land of my birth.
This is quite useful when the trip takes an hour, or more. ;-D
