The writer begins with what appears to be a deep sense of relief:
We just got back from a short trip to “The Happiest Place on Earth”!
Considering where the person lives you can be excused for assuming the trip was to Valencia, but you would be wrong. ;-D
We drove the whole way. It’s a hot, and kinda boring, drive from the Bay Area to Anaheim. You can see all walks of life on your journey, and often times wonder if these folks are also on vacation.
Yup, the trip led across the wild and woolly terrain between us and the mysterious land beyond the mountains of the Los Padres National Forest, straight into our backyard. ;-D
We all have become second-citizens because our government and its representatives, held hostage and threatened by the Drive By Media, haven’t the strength to take a stand. These spineless dolts continue to play Three Card Monty with us - and all we get is taken, time and again.
California, as anyone knows, is an ethnic stew and this frequently causes problems, especially this deep into SoCal.
To deny it is to willfully ignore the obvious.
The writer humorously addresses some of these issues, in an effort to make some very serious points, in a piece that is over a year old but still very relevant.
